Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) decided to set up bamboo-based stations on two Metro corridors as a pilot project to encourage ecofriendly and sustainable development.

Bottles made from bamboo are beneficial for nature as it decomposes easily, without causing any toxicity and harm to the environment, as opposed to plastic.
